1-God requires parents to train their children in a God-centered way.
(Deuteronomy 6:6-7 GNB) Never forget these commands that I am giving you today. Teach them to your children. Repeat them when you are at home and when you are away, when you are resting and when you are working.
2-The Father is primarily responsible for child training.
(Ephesians 6:4 RSVA) Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
3-Do not exasperate them, be unfair to them, or abuse them.
(Colossians 3:21 GW) Fathers, don't make your children resentful, or they will become discouraged.
4-The father must manage his family well and see that his children obey and respect him.
(1 Timothy 3:4 GW) He must manage his own family well. His children should respectfully obey him.
5-love requires faithful discipline.
(Proverbs 13:24 GW) Whoever refuses to spank his son hates him, but whoever loves his son disciplines him from early on.
(Proverbs 22:15 GW) Foolishness is firmly attached to a child's heart. Spanking will remove it far from him.
(Proverbs 23:13-14 GW) Do not hesitate to discipline a child. If you spank him, he will not die. Spank him yourself, and you will save his soul from hell.
(Proverbs 29:15 GW) A spanking and a warning produce wisdom, but an undisciplined child disgraces his mother.
(Proverbs 29:17 GW) Correct your son, and he will give you peace of mind. He will bring delight to your soul.
6-Unless the Lord builds the house...
(Psalms 127:1-3 GNB) If the LORD does not build the house, the work of the builders is useless; if the LORD does not protect the city, it does no good for the sentries to stand guard. It is useless to work so hard for a living, getting up early and going to bed late. For the LORD provides for those he loves, while they are asleep. Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a real blessing.
